The average sized town between London and Brighton on the A272

current location: archive - woo woos cafe

Sadly, we never got a chance to photograph Woo Woo's Internet cafe. This is what we said about it back in 2000 or maybe 2001. Try the link, it may still work.

"Haywards Heath has now fully embraced the microchip revolution by playing host to a modern Internet equipped cafe with a full intoxicating beverages licence. By opening after new year's eve 1999 Woo Woo's Internet Cafe cleverly protected itself from the Millennium troubles. Offering a range of beverages and, from what we saw as we drove by in the dark a comprehensive food catalogue, the cafe presents the tourist with an ideal stop over location from which to browse this site and plan the days activities."

Woo Woo's closed not so long after our report in spite of an innovative advertising campaign on the controversial bypass roundabout. At one point Woo Woo's had a Costa Coffee franchise. It seems that Haywards Heath wasn't ready for an Internet equipped cafe and when a new cafe opened in the Orchards in 2003 the lack of an Internet capability was notable by it's absence.

We believe the people responsible for Woo Woo's opened another cafe somewhere else.
